Dr. Roland Segal, a distinguished psychiatrist, holds the role of Managing Partner and MD Psychiatrist at Synergy Mental Health and Wellness Integrated. Graduating from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, he pursued his general psychiatry training at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Segal further refined his skills through a forensic psychiatry fellowship at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine.

Dr. Segal has more than 10 years of clinical, administrative, executive and forensic experience. With double board certification in General and Forensic Psychiatry, Dr. Segal brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. He served as the Chief Medical Officer at Valley Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, president of the Arizona Psychiatric Society, chair of the legislative committee and a member of multiple state and national boards, committees and organizations. Dr. Segal is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, where he regularly teaches medical students and residents.

Dr. Segal serves as a psychiatry expert consultant for a number of superior and regional courts including Salt River, Maricopa and Yuma County; city governments including Phoenix, Lake Havasu and Mesa; and organizations including the United Postal Service, Social Security Administration, Immigration Health Services, US Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.

He earned his medical degree from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, and completed his psychiatry internship at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Washington DC. Dr. Lokhande pursued his General Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he served as the Chief Fellow in his final year. Alexandra “Lexy” has been a psychiatric provider 2020, working with children, adolescents, and adults. Lexy has worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona studying psychology and Spanish. Prior to attending PA school, she first completed a master’s in biomedical sciences at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. Lexy completed her PA master’s degree at Chapman University in Orange, California which is where she found her passion for mental and behavioral health, working in many settings to include drug and alcohol rehabilitation, acute inpatient, and adolescent psychiatry. I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use challenges. My care is collaborative and evidence-based, with a strong focus on each client’s strengths. I frequently integrate CBT and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients build practical skills and resilience.

I chose this profession because of my own lived experiences and the experiences of friends and family who have struggled with mental health challenges. When I began working as a behavioral health technician, I discovered a deep passion for helping others. I find it most rewarding to support clients in understanding what they are going through, using a patient-centered—and when appropriate, functional—approach that empowers growth, insight, and healing.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through strength training, walking, and Pilates. I also value spending time with my family, friends, and my dogs, as well as traveling and reading. I bring an extensive background in high-risk obstetrical nursing, which has shaped my passion for perinatal mental health. I also work with patients of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. My approach to care is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients develop insight, coping skills, and lasting change.

Kathryn Kruithoff, LMSW

Kathryn Kruithoff, LMSW graduated from Arizona State University with her Master of Social Work in 2019. She has worked in many environments with many different types of patients and feels she has learned something from each one. Kathryn operates from a client centered approach, striving to provide ethical, individualized care which empowers you to access your highest self. Kathryn truly believes that you are the expert on yourself and you already have the answers you need for healing and success within you. Sometimes you just need a little support and guidance when trauma, grief, anxiety, or other stressors start overwhelming your inner wisdom. Kathryn strongly believes in your ability to find healing and wholeness and offers support through EMDR, DBT, MI, Expressive Arts therapies, Somatic Processing, Attachment Theory, Ecological Systems Theory, Strengths Based, and Holistic Approaches.

Kathryn has a strong interest in Evidenced Based approaches and applications to treatment. She is a co-author of two research papers exploring best practices to provide support to those with Substance Use Disorders. Kathryn also believes strongly in trauma informed care and has traveled to Moldova twice to help educate social workers there about trauma informed approaches to treatment. Additionally, Kathryn has fully divested from Diet Culture and takes an anti-diet and HAES approach to treatment; recognizing that intersectionality of identities is an important factor when discussing our relationships to our own bodies and how we relate to others.
