SMHWI provides psychiatric and mental health care across Scottsdale, Tempe, Glendale, and Rockwall. Whether you need medication management, therapy, or something more specialized like TMS or Spravato, we build your care plan around your specific situation. Browse our treatments below.
ADHD treatment for adults at all four SMHWI locations. Before starting any medication, our psychiatrists take time to rule out conditions that can look like ADHD — including anxiety and bipolar disorder. Both stimulant and non-stimulant options are available.
Bipolar I, Bipolar II, and Cyclothymia managed by board-certified psychiatrists. SMHWI specializes in mood stabilizer management and integrated therapy for complex cases including co-occurring anxiety, trauma, or substance use.
SMHWI treats major depressive disorder, persistent depression, and treatment-resistant depression (TRD). We combine medication management with therapy — and for patients who haven't gotten relief from antidepressants, TMS, Spravato, and ketamine are available at all four locations.
SMHWI's trauma therapists and psychiatrists work together on the same care plan using EMDR, CPT, and medication management. We treat all types of trauma including combat, assault, accidents, and childhood experiences. Tricare accepted at all four locations. No VA referral needed.
EMDR therapy at all four SMHWI locations. It helps patients work through trauma without having to narrate every detail, and is recognized by the APA, WHO, and VA as a frontline treatment for PTSD. Available with or without medication management.
Mental health care for veterans, active-duty service members, and military families at all four SMHWI locations in AZ and TX. Tricare accepted, no VA referral required. Combat PTSD, moral injury, TBI-related mood disorders, and co-occurring conditions all treated.

Become a Patient →In addition to condition-specific care, SMHWI offers a full range of psychiatric and therapeutic services. From individual therapy to advanced interventional treatments like TMS and Spravato, we have options for patients at different stages of care. All services are available at all four locations.
Psychiatric medication management for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and more. Our psychiatrists and PMHNPs pay close attention to how you're responding and adjust over time. Available at all four locations and via telehealth statewide.
FDA-cleared TMS is a non-medication treatment for depression that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain regions that regulate mood. No sedation, no systemic side effects, no recovery time. Available at all four SMHWI locations and covered by most insurance plans.
One-on-one therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and more using CBT, DBT, EMDR, and CPT. Our therapists work closely with our psychiatrists so your therapy and medication are part of the same plan. Available at all four locations and via telehealth.
Therapist-led group sessions using CBT and DBT frameworks for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and co-occurring conditions. Available at all four SMHWI locations as both a standalone service and as part of IOP programming.
SMHWI's IOP gives patients more structure than standard outpatient care without inpatient admission — meeting three days per week for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. Mental health IOP available at all four locations. Eating disorder IOP at Tempe only. Virtual IOP statewide in AZ and TX.
FDA-approved esketamine nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression and MDD with suicidal ideation. Administered in-office under clinical supervision. Available at all four SMHWI locations and covered by most major insurance when medically necessary.
A rapid-acting option for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and anxiety. Ketamine works on NMDA glutamate receptors — a different mechanism than antidepressants — and often produces relief where other treatments haven't worked. Administered in a monitored clinical setting at all four locations.
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new patients and complex presentations. Same-day evaluations available at select SMHWI locations, in-person and via telehealth. No referral required for most services.
Integrated dual-diagnosis care for adults managing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. SMHWI treats both conditions simultaneously, coordinating psychiatric medication management, therapy, and IOP within one practice.
Tricare and most major insurance accepted. Most patients seen within a few days of first contact.

We start by getting a full picture. Before any treatment decisions are made, your provider reviews your history, current symptoms, and any other conditions that may be affecting you. This matters because the wrong diagnosis leads to the wrong treatment.
Your care plan is built around you. We choose medications, interventional treatments, and therapy approaches based on your specific diagnosis, history, and goals. Nothing is copy-pasted. And as you progress, the plan gets updated.
Mental health treatment takes time to get right. Your provider checks in on how you're responding, what's working, and what isn't. Dosages get adjusted, therapy approaches shift, and your plan evolves as you do.
Your psychiatrist and therapist actually talk to each other. They share what they're seeing and align on your care. This matters most for patients dealing with overlapping conditions — like PTSD and depression, or ADHD and anxiety — where disconnected providers can work against each other.
